P.A.R Preflop Anomaly Requisition(revised)1.3

anomaly is the failure of a symmetry to be restored in the limit in which the symmetry-breaking parameter goes to zero.In our case the symmetry happends to
be the game within itself; And the concert in which it flows with the blinds
structures, which are applied at a given level. And therefore the formula of the
Preflop Anomaly Requisition, attemps to restore the symmetry which would otherwise
be lost in a normal playing situation.

Of course we understand the breaking parameter refers to our stack size.In accordance to the relm of (M), as it governs all major (o)orbits;Such as bet sizing and hand holdings while following a given criteria for the level of resistance; Which we then use to counteract the anomaly's breaking parameter >(0).

Which now brings us to the term of Requisition;Which will in a sense control or rule the anomoly, and therefore attempt to control the symmetry's breaking parameter of zero.So the act of requiring something to be furnished along with demand of this specific application should usually yeild us with the authority needed to remain in total concert with (M)

This being said i will now introduce the formula in question!

1.)Formula Name:PREFLOP/ANOMOLY/REQUISITION (PAR)as discribed above is the attempt to control or monitor chip stack; And yet remain in favor of (M).This formula will allow you to play agressive poker while consistantly building; And maintaining proper M for a given level of the blinds as they increase. You will be allowed to steal pots within a balanced and mathmaticly based attack;according to position and the total of(0).

It will also be noted that this system will and has shown,to prevent the high card domination factor. So in simple terms you will be afforded the advantages of getting your PAR holding in good so to speak.PAR was designed not as a formula that you will impliment into your play as a safe guard; But more of an umbrella for saftey sake.It becomes very effective once you have taken down your first pot.

Here i do not advise that you use PAR before becoming a positive stack. From the test i have run it is not a positive EV play, when used before winning a solid hand while in play. The reason for this is very simple;Your table image will become one of a very loose and agressive player.PAR is not a system designed for the loose agressive player.

Let me give you a perfect example of the -EV!!!!!

Blinds 15/30 and you hold T9s on the cut-off seat.
There is one caller UTG and it is folded arounf to you!
You raise 90 making the pot 175 and both blinds fold!
UTG calls 90 making the pot 265!
The flop comes 9-A-6 rainbow!!!
UTG checks and you bet half the pot!
Turn 9-A-6 (9)
The board is now paired with a flush draw on board!
UTG bets the pot!
You reraise with a half the pot raised!
He pushes all-in and you call and you win the showdown!

This was the perfect situation you might think; But if you look at the big picture with it being so early in the game. You will notice that your table image is now ruined.Every player at the table now thinks your a donk or a maniac fish! And one thing that i have come across playing poker; Is that it's just like meeting that girlfor the first time ,on the very first date. You will always remember she had a nice ass and some fuck up makeup on!

The moral of this story is that;In order for this formula to work succesfuly. You will have to have alot of dicipline at first. This system will basicaly allow you to destroy a tourney by using Patience Persistance and will allow you to Punish! That is a very important concept that we at the,ONLINE POKER SYNDICATE advocate.

Therefore by playing solid poker in the early stages 10/20-15/30 your image will be one of a solid agressive player.I have taken a few concepts from Dan Harrington in his copies of,Harrington on Holdem volumes 1,2 and 3.Along with a few sng concepts from Scott Fischman(ONLINE ACE);As well as very important comments and replies from the players,at the Pocket Fives forum such as;Adam Small to obtain online players views as well.

Once the first two levels of play are complete; You will also be able to pretty much guage who are players and who are not.Basicaly if you still have a full table after this level. You will want to play very cautiously as well! From my own personal experience and with over 1000 sng's played MTT and STT;I have modified a few of the play reccomendations from ONLINE ACE and ADAM SMALLS article from Pocket Fives.

While Fischman and Small both advocate playing very tight early;I agree also but i have a few modifacations as well.I do agree that you should only play AA/KK/QQ/JJ ect. I also feel that you have to induce a much more complex stratergy ,than just sitting on your ass waiting for cards until the 50/100 level. From my play in these things the soft spot is the 25/50 level period!

At this level you can pretty much play,AK/AQ/AJ ect with proper position very aggresive and without worry; With 3x the BB raises ect ect. This is not to take anything away from Fischman's book or Adam Smalls article. But times have changed as so will this formula; And players are just not sitting on thier asses anymore trying to catch good cardz.

I cannot begin to tell you how many times,i have waited until the 50/100 level on to be cold decked(no big pairs or cardz); And then when i did pick up a hand like QQ.It gets cracked by a short stack; And then im fucked for the rest of the game.Another downside to 50/100 is when you do pick up a real hand you willl get no action! Who the fuck calls a raise from a guy, that has only played one or two hands. Then out of nowhere sticks in a big raise or reraise!!!!!!

I consider myself very 3 dementional as far as changing gears is concerned. And PAR will help your game i promise you! This is one major reason i like Harrington so much;He does not beleive in just waiting to play premier hands so to speak.Although he does advocate precision play as well as being a big fan of Phil Ivey.

2.)LEGEND: CL-current level
CB-cold button
HB-hot button
O-orbit
TSV-total steal value
P-pot
SB-small blind
BB-big blind
SP-spoter

3.)FORMULA: CL=(SB+BB)=(P)/(TSV)=(0)

Current blind level=small blind+Big blind=pot size/total steal value=Orbits

This is a very simple equation! and in short is (p)/(tsv)=(0) but one must understand. The values of this equation changes and or resets at each blind increase. So in other words you will reset your (tsv)=(0) after each level increase. But one side note you need to understand about being called.PAR is designed to work in both effect of being called and just winning the blinds as well.

If you are called that is fine also;As if you steal the blinds this is also fine as well.PAR looks to be most effective in several ways. One you are looking for fold equity by having a stack big enuff 10(M's) or better to just win the blinds. Two it enables you to play post-flop by using two live cardz;By being either suited or connected. And three by winning the hand in a showdown or by using aggresive play!

So you have 1.FOLD EQUITY
2.PLAYABILITY
3.WINNING A SHOWDOWN

And the best part of par is late in a sng; When your M becomes 10 or less while in a hand or preflop. With an M of ten or lower you are allowed to go to hell with your hand. You are basicaly at the point where you have to make a move or push. With an M of ten you can put a dent in anyones stack at the table. This is where you make big raises using PAR hands raising 4x5 times the BB;Letting your opponants see that you are basicaly GONNA GO TO HELL WITH THIS HAND SO YOU BETTER FOLD I HAVE ACES!!!!!!

This allows you to pick your best spots to push your Random Hands. This way you will in fact bully the table; But at the same time you will not appear to be doing so! Your image will remain that of a solid yet agressive player.

Once i give a hand example you will better understand the total intagril of the anomoly and how we apply the requisite accordingly. Therefore allowing you to control your stack size and maintian proper symmetry, while remaining well above proper M and Orbits.

For the first example we will use low blind levels; This way it becomes easy to apply during higher blind situations! Now the first thing one must understand is that this is simply not blind stealing. You must follow basic ICM for contesting a big stack when you apply this formula; While also following the specific guide line of M. As i said in order for this formula to work; You must also follow every and all guidelines of M and the zone system. So that each equation flows within the horizontal of concert and not the opposite.

First off the formula or PAR is applied the very first time you attempt to push the button/cutoff and or small blind. During these attempts you will be required to make physical or mental notes of (o).(o)is the number of orbits or times the button is allowed to pass before your next action. But one must also remember that PAR is only to be applied after you win your first pot at each level.

One important parodox that must be understood about PAR is the 3-1 rule. The 3-1 rule by Harrington will apply to each and every level of PAR;Therefore regulating the action of symmetrical anomaly from becoming the requisite parameter of zero. This is why the 3-1 rule has been added to the equation. It not only acts as a safe guard but also helps to regulate over agressive play as well!

Basicaly what the 3-1 rule does is inform you of negative table image.By this it imforms you as to the imformation provided by table action.Once PAR has begun 3-1 is also in concert with PAR as well. The 3-1 rule states, that a player at a given point needs only his push or steal attempt to suceed 1/3 time to break even. And it also states that if you take the pot more than 3-1 you show a profit.

So what this should tell you Is;That when you push and you are called more than 2/3rds of the time. The table is too loose and you should now abandon PAR@the current levels you are playing. So if infact you make 3 pushes using PAR and you are called all three times;Simply put you have maniacs at your table and you should tighen up until the next level.

PAR does not apply to your premium hands such as AA-99 or AK/AQ/AJ ect. PAR refers to your middle suited connectors and non-dominated card holding; With an avarage winning percentage between 32-42% vs 3 random players.Ofcourse these numbers will increase dramaticly Vs 2 and in HU random equations using pokerstove software.

As a note the hands that you choose to push with may be at your own risk; But I would recomend something like this! http://danharringtonzone.blogspot.com/2007/06/undominated-card-holdings-for-bubble.html

So now that we have PAR/3-1 and a basic understanding of what we are trying to acomplish here;I can now revert back to the mental or physical note taking. You will have to keep a rough estimate of (o) in your head; Are just do the smart thing and keep a pen and pad handy! Becuase you will need to add the total pot or TSV,when the hand is contested and your hand holds up for the win after the flop. You will then divide this number by (CL) to arrive at (O). This number tells you when it is appropriate to reapply PAR.

And now lastly is the equation in action in a real hand!

PokerStars Game #10372337025: Tournament #52552939, $6.00+$0.60 Hold'em No Limit - Level II (15/30) - 2007/06/10 - 19:23:08 (ET)
Table '52552939 1' 6-max Seat #2 is the button

Here the blind level is 15/30 or level two,I pick up a playable required hand on the button. Here i make a standard 5-6xBB raise here,as i do in all the early levels of these sng tourneys. This hides my hand perfectly and starts my first attempt at PAR.

NOTE:This hand was used only after winning the required pot at the given level 15/30

Seat 1: nocheatin (1355 in chips)
Seat 2: SR8tAcEto5 (2485 in chips)

Seat 6: ripsonx (1895 in chips)
Holi: posts small blind 15
rathouse11: posts big blind 30
*** HOLE CARDS ***

Dealt to SR8tAcEto5 [8s 7h]

Note:The hand here is 87o and is 39% to win on avg overall. But here i was able to get heads up which improved my chances to 47%. This was my 1st PAR hand of this current level.

*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 3095 | Rake 0
Board [Jd Th 9c Ts 4h]
Seat 1: nocheatin folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 2: SR8tAcEto5 (button) showed [8s 7h] and won (3095) with a straight, Seven to Jack
Seat 3: Holi (small blind) folded before Flop
Seat 5: rathouse11 (big blind) showed [Kc 3c] and lost with a pair of Tens
Seat 6: ripsonx folded before Flop (didn't bet)

Notice a few things here about PAR!!!!

1.The 3-1 has now been activated/One push 1 caller 1-1

2.TSV is now 3095

3. Be aware that this is level 2 15/30

4. FORMULA: CL=(SB+BB)=(P)/(TSV)=(0)

15+30=3095/45=68 So here you would have to wait 68 orbits before you were able to use PAR again at this level. So in other words PAR as done it's job for this level; And you don't have to worry about another push until the next level.
As soon as the next level starts PAR starts also.

Rev1.3-I will now introduce the (sb) or spotter thoery! As i have chosen to add this as a start and ending point for the hot and the cold button. You will often notice when M falls below 10;decisions become very crucial during this state of the tourney as first-in vigorish(first in the pot when pushing)become very important.

It become very key that you atleast win the blinds to sustian your current stack size. From my experience i don't honestly believe you can just go by feel; And steal the blinds when you think it is safe to do so. I have had great success by using the spotting theory in these situations.

Simply put spotting is done by making your push in an unraised pot along with par.But instead of making the button steal with par;You will push the cold button on are after. The exact spot the button was located when you won the pot,or PAR was successful.

Then and only then should you apply PAR again; As free blinds will count toward hot buttons as well.So in other words if the button is folded around to your BB;This counts as a round of (o) also!

Undominated Card Holdings For Bubble Play

Just from playing a few games this morning in the $10 Level;I have noticed that during the bubble period stealing blinds become very important. I have also notice how important it is to be very patient during bubble play; But at the same time you must be prepared to become very aggresive also. I have been a victim of domination in two of three hands this morning for my opening sessions. And despite my solid play in these games,I was unable to make the cash which is the reason that we all play the game.

Below i have a list of hands that i have run though the Poker Stove Software. And basicaly what i am considering is using hands with a higher proboblity of winning; As opposed to just stealing with trash hands or holdings that could be dominated. I am also going to develope a chart for hands success also in google spreadsheets.

Hnd. cut off Button Sb vs. BB

JTs 43% 45% 57%
J9s 40% 44% 55%
T9s 40% 42% 54%
98s 34% 40% 50%
97s 32% 39% 49%
87s 31% 39% 47%
76s 28% 33% 45%
68s 27% 31% 46%
T8s 32% 40% 52%

These hands represent the holdings that i will now be adding to my bubble play during the Orange Zone. This charts gives me an idea of what to expect if i have to make a big all-in decision.
For example if i pick up Jack Ten suited on the button i am a 3:2 dog! or 45% to win by the river.
